Baker & Taylor continued its acquisition spree late last month with the purchase of Delta International Book Wholesalers. Based in Addlestone, England, Delta is an exporter of British books to retail, school, ELT and academic markets worldwide.

The acquisition was made by B&T's YBP Library Services division. B&T already owns the U.K.—based Lindsay and Howes, and YBP president Gary Shirk said the addition of Delta will double the size of B&T's U.K.—origin sales and provide the company with "immediate access to markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America." Delta will be merged into L&H, which is headed by Miriam Lindsay.

Delta is B&T's third purchase since September, when it acquired the STM wholesaler J.A. Majors. In mid-November, B&T added the Spanish-language distributor Libros Sin Fronteras.
