Long-haired center-fielder Johnny Damon was a star of the team, with his own vociferous following, even before he helped the Red Sox to their epochal World Series win in the fall. Now he has become the first team member to sign for a memoir, with Rick Horgan at Crown. He will talk of his early career with the Sox before zeroing in on the excitement of the Series and his role in it; he will also speculate about the team's likely future. This was a world rights deal, signed with agent Ian Kleinert at Literary Group International, in affiliation with Impact Marketing solutions.
