The bipartisan presidential commission looking into what happened with U.S. intelligence regarding Iraq's alleged possession of weapons of mass destruction will issue its unclassified report next week, and within days Public Affairs will have a trade paperback out of the full text, plus annotation and commentary, all edited and with an introduction by CraigWhitney of the New York Times. The title sums up the findings: The WMD Mirage: Iraq's Decade of Deception and America's False Premise for War. Among other findings, the commission says that the CIA concluded in 2002 that Iraq had reconstituted its WMD programs, but that, in fact, they had been dismantled.
