Jimmy Breslin may have given up his Pulitzer Prize—winning newspaper column, but when a subject close to his heart comes along, he'll still do a book. Such was the case with the story of the two New York cops who turned out to have been working for years as Mafia hit men and were arrested after an investigation that lasted decades. Breslin's Blood Ties tells the story of Frank Eppolito and Stephen Caracappa, now charged with the 1992 murder ofa captain in the Gambino family, and how their bizarre relationship with the criminals developed and came undone. The project was bought for Ecco at Harper, world rights, by DanHalpern and recently hired (from Random) Lee Boudreaux, from agent DavidBlack. Breslin promises a manuscript by the end of the year.
