Elhi Soars in October

(Measured in $ sales against same time periods, 2004) The elhi segment had its second straight big month in October, with sales jumping 24.5%, according to AAP's monthly estimates. Gains were led by basal sales, which rose 34.6%, offsetting a 1% decline in supplementary sales. For the first 10 months of 2005, elhi sales were up 10.5%, on track with industry forecasts. The children's paperback segment also had a big gain in the month, with sales up 39.8%. The mass market paperback category continued its up-and-down year, with sales off 15.8% in October and down 1.7% in the year to date. In higher education, returns outpaced gross sales, though at a lower rate than in 2004. | ||
