Alane Salierno Mason was promoted from v-p and senior editor at W.W. Norton to executive editor. Mason joined Norton in 1999 as a senior editor and has edited such books as Andre Dubus III’s House of Sand and Fog; Diane Ackerman’s The Zookeeper’s Wife; and Stephen Greenblatt’s National Book Award winner for nonfiction, The Swerve. Before Norton, Mason was at Harcourt, where she acquired and edited, among others, David Guterson’s Snow Falling on Cedars. Mason is also the founder and president of the translation program Words Without Borders.
