Swedish crime writer Camilla Läckberg has seen international success since releasing her 2003 debut, Ice Princess (published in 2010 by Pegasus), and to date her books have been translated into 33 languages. In France, her 2008 novel The Drowning was the top title. Earlier this year, Pegasus published another of her novels, The Stonecutter.

In Germany, Rachel Joyce’s debut novel, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, landed at #3. Joyce, a British writer who was longlisted for this year’s Man Booker Prize, had her book published by Random House in July 2012. On Germany’s nonfiction chart, two books that have found international success continued their streak: Sort of Best Friends (a revised edition of The Second Wind, the basis for the blockbuster Intouchables) and Thinking, Fast and Slow were at #2 and #3 on the chart, respectively.

Spain’s fiction list was topped by three books that have U.S. connections—George R.R. Martin’s Song of Fire and Ice books are some of the bestselling fantasy books in the last decade (A Dance with Dragons has sold nearly 600,000 copies in the U.S. since its publication in 2011) and there’s been no bigger story in publishing than Fifty Shades of Grey. Spain’s #3, however, has yet to be published stateside, but that will change on September 11 when Hyperion releases The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared. Jonas Jonasson’s novel has sold over two million copies worldwide.
