Knopf Books for Young Readers is publishing its first enhanced e-book, a tie-in edition of Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen. The publication marks the first foray any Random House imprint has made in publishing an enhanced e-book for the children's market. The e-book went on sale August 10 for $14.99, leading up to the August 27 release of the film, which is directed by Rob Reiner.

Flipped, about two kids falling awkwardly in hate and love through their formative years, was originally published in 2001. The enhanced e-book will include a variety of footage and content, including an original video about the making of the film, behind-the-scenes footage from the film, three original songs written and sung by Van Draanen, and eight clips of significant scenes from the movie.

Knopf is also releasing a trade paperback tie-in of Flipped with a list price of $8.99, as well as a standard e-book edition of the title, also with an $8.99 list price.
