YA and Middle Grade Authors Hold Auction for Victims of Sandy

In just two and a half weeks author Kieran Scott, who penned the Private series as Kate Brian, has received commitments from more than 170 young adult and middle-grade authors for a YA for NJ benefit auction, hosted by eBay Giving Works, to fill the coffers of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.

“I wanted to help those in the direst need,” said Scott, who chose the Community FoodBank because of its quick response to those in New Jersey’s hardest hit areas. Auction items include signed hardcovers of Beautiful Creatures by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia, and a Skype visit with If I Stay author Gayle Forman. Holly Black donated autographed copies of the complete collection of The Spiderwick Chronicles, and the list of authors and donations continues to grow.

The auction will take place from November 30 to December 7; donated books, school visits, and online meetings can be viewed here.
