With a hearing set today for a Grand Rapids courtroom, attorneys for Family Christian Stores have filed a brief asking Judge John Gregg to approve the reorganization plan.

The attorneys noted that all the classes in the bankruptcy action that were entitled to vote on the newest plan have voted to approve amended plan. The deadline to vote was August 7.

With the approval of the different classes of Family creditors, the attorney’s argued that the amended reorganization plan satisfies all requirements of the bankruptcy code and should be approved by the court.

Family Christian, which filed for bankruptcy in February, was forced to amend its reorganization plan after judge Gregg rejected the first plan in June.
