In light of last week's news that Google has pulled the plug on print editions of Frommer's guidebooks, Amanda D'Acierno, senior v-p and publisher of Fodor's Travel, made the following comments about her company's commitment to print guidebooks:

“At Fodor's, we remain committed to producing print editions of our guidebooks as an essential component of our portfolio of travel content, including e-books, mobile apps, and Fodors.com. With annually updated expert advice, full color, and recommendations for any budget, our print guidebooks are without peer in the market, and we know from the millions of visitors to Fodors.com that print guidebooks are an essential resource for their trip planning, alongside our mobile apps, e-books and online information. We have a robustly active print publishing schedule, and are adding new destinations to our annual guidebook offerings. We have seen healthy strong sales of print guidebooks that we are confident will continue."
