ReedPOP, the producer of BookCon, has announced the event's first slew of panels for the 2017 show, which will be held June 3-4 at the Javits Center in New York City.

Adult authors to appear include Dan Brown, Margaret Atwood, Kwame Alexander, Cory Doctorow, and Shea Serrano. The YA and kids' world will be represented by Rainbow Rowell, Veronica Roth, Soman Chainani, Jeff Kinney, Cassandra Clare, Victoria Aveyard, Megan Whalen Turner, Danielle Paige, and V.E. Schwab.

Pop culture icons and actors to be featured include Krysten Ritter, Mayim Bialik, Jeffrey Tambor, Chad Michael Murray, Bill Nye, Marc Maron, Andrew McCarthy, and Janet Mock.

The digital sector will be represented by YouTubers Ryan Higa and Natasha Bure, and BookTubers (who feature in videos based on books on YouTube) including Kat O'Keeffe, Christine Riccio, and Jesse George. Fans can also enjoy Panel discussions on a wide range of topics from diversity in graphic novels and kids’ blockbusters to poetry and contemporary fiction.

"We have been working hard to develop a show that has something for every type of book lover to enjoy and are excited to unveil this programming to our fans," BookCon event director Brien McDonald said. “But we aren’t done yet; we still have some big announcements to share in the coming weeks.”
