Take it from us, the fall publishing season is shaping up to be one to remember. Thomas Pynchon and Kiran Desai are back, dark academia is on the rise, AI is in the crosshairs of some top-notch thinkers, and Margaret Atwood is telling all.
Back in March, we invited publishers to submit information on books publishing between Aug. 1, 2025, and Jan. 31, 2026. Our editors then sifted through the thousands of submissions to handpick fall’s most notable titles in 13 categories. Each category has a top 10 list and a longlist of books that have a certain shine about them. (There’s also a searchable database of all the submitted titles at publishersweekly.com/previews.)
Be sure to check back for our children’s preview on July 14, our comics and graphic novels preview on July 21, and our religion and spirituality preview on July 28.
In the meantime, happy reading!
