Feature: Science Fiction & Fantasy

Issue: Sept. 30
Deadline: July 29
UPDATED: We're interested in hearing about authors of forthcoming books who got their start writing fan fiction. Aside from former fan-fic writers, we’re prioritizing books that respond to current political/ ecological/ socioeconomic concerns; titles centered on Africa, African mythos, and the African diaspora; and stories involving women astronauts. We’d also like to speak with editors about treading the perceived line between genre and literary fiction. Adult titles and crossover YA are welcome, as are pitches on other themes in SFF publishing. Pub dates: Oct. 2019–Mar. 2020 (approx.). Please send pitches and comments on background to features@publishersweekly.com by deadline July 29 and put “Call for Info: SFF” in the subject line.
