The Sales Manager – Ministry Sales is responsible for selling Abingdon Press products through Ministry and business organizations. The incumbent works closely with the Abingdon Press publishing units to create unique selling opportunities in the market through a dedicated and aggressive bulk and custom sales program. The incumbent works with sales, marketing, publishing, and others within the organization to network and develop a new customer base, understanding their needs and creating opportunities for unique product development and sales. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining current knowledge of all new products through communication with the publishing and marketing teams, maintaining and communicating accurate orders and customer communications, providing updated customer reports, and compiling accurate expense and budgetary reports. The incumbent also works closely with product development teams to improve and increase sales of future products by providing commentary and customer feedback regarding market trends, customer needs, and competitive products and programs.

A Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years of experience in publishing, including experience selling to retailers and ministry organizations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent personal computer skills including internet, e-mail, and social media experience. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Good basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages). Broad knowledge of Bible translations and Christian books. Broad knowledge of all product lines, as well as an understanding of sales techniques related to customer segments and buyers of these products
