We’re looking for a team player who can lead our publishing professionals in the design, planning and implementation of digital workflows and digital product publications. The Senior Manager – Digital Production Systems leverages previous experience with electronic publishing solutions to meet our members’ needs for timely, relevant technical content in flexible formats that will enhance AWWA’s market position.

Job Summary
Conduct ongoing evaluation of AWWA production processes to include identifying and resolving workflow problems and production challenges
Lead teams in the design and implementation of preferred workflows optimized for targeted digital and print outputs
o Participate in user testing and feature/function requirements gathering
o Provide guidance on best production practices to AWWA content developers and production teams
Create and execute plan for the creation of new products by leveraging electronic solutions to content management
Manage digital business operations including but not limited to managing expenses to budget and effective contract negotiations with external partners
Manage and oversee content delivery to online publication delivery channels
Manage one direct report

Please note - this is not a telecommuting position

Bachelor’s degree in related area with five years’ periodical and book production experience (both digital and non-digital) including minimum of three years’ experience with digital publishing solutions required. In addition, five years’ experience with digital publishing applications (eXtyles, Typeify, LaTex, Design Science MathType and MathFLow, XML Editor, various manuscript submission systems) and advanced proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, InDesign, and/or Quark required. Three years’ supervisory experience required.

Association publishing experience strongly preferred; experience with scientific or engineering association publishing preferred

Successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of eBook and ePublishing standards and have effective project management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to effectively manage partnerships with internal and external customers.

Compensation dependent upon qualifications; hiring salary range is targeted in the $70k. AWWA offers a comprehensive benefits package with immediate eligibility upon hire and vesting for retirement savings plan with a 3% company match and 6% employer contribution.
