Publications International, Ltd. is a privately held publisher and consumer products company headquartered in the near north suburbs of Chicago and is currently seeking to hire a Sales Director to call on the Club channel of trade. The company's principle product lines include children's books / interactive learning, consumer reference, and gift / stationery. The company has an impressive 40+ year history of significant sales growth because of a value-priced and innovative product line, quick to market mentality, willingness to customize and a non-bureaucratic culture.

The Sales Director will represent the company calling upon Costco, Costco Canada, and BJ's. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, the Sales Director will plan and make headquarter calls in support of account specific business plans and product development initiatives.

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience of selling, marketing, and creating book and/or toy products, preferably within the club channel. Experience managing a Distributor network is required. In addition to a solid work ethic and strong goal orientation, candidates must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and have experience with prospecting and closing new accounts. A 4 year degree is preferred; candidates must also be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint computer applications.

This is an ideal situation for a person with a proven track record or performance within the Club channel seeking to step into a higher visibility / high growth environment with a continuous flow of new products. Alternatively, a person seeking to break from a large corporation into a more entrepreneurial and flexible setting will also find this position attractive.

Compensation includes a competitive salary and full benefits package. Preferably the candidate will reside in the greater Chicagoland area, although exceptions will be considered to the candidate who possesses the desired attributes and experience.
