Amazon Publishing is seeking a savvy and results-oriented marketing professional to join its New York City Publishing office. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of creating and executing both cutting-edge and traditional trade marketing campaigns.

The successful candidate will work closely with Amazon’s distribution partner in creating and coordinating sales materials. The candidate will help create and execute high profile campaigns as well as identify unconventional special sales opportunities. (Familiarity with major retail accounts is essential) This is a multi-faceted job in a start-up environment with great grow potential. Flexibility, a strong work ethic and a good sense of humor are a must.

Core Job Responsibilities
- Conceive, create and execute innovative marketing campaigns for both print books and e-books.
- Work closely with a sales force of distribution partners.
- Use compelling and comprehensive data to measure performance of programs.
- Drive innovation by creatively using the Amazon data base and merchandising sites.
- Partner with groups within Amazon to develop and leverage marketing programs and identify new opportunities that align to team and cross-company goals.

Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS required
- 7 or more years experience in merchandising, marketing or publicity experience in a related industry (publishing, or other content-related businesses).
- Ability to aggressively create innovative new consumer marketing programs that generate results, and the ability to objectively measure those results.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
- Superior verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to measure results
- Experience working with MS Excel required

Preferred Qualifications
- MBA/MS/MA preferred
- Passion for books and a great appetite for reading
- Contacts within the author, agent or publicity industry preferred
