The University of Nebraska Press seeks an editor in chief for its books division. The editor in chief is a key senior manager and member of the Leadership team, providing editorial vision and voice to the Press. The editor in chief establishes department and individual editors' goals, and meets regularly with the editors to assess their progress. The editor in chief develops and implements policies and procedures and represents the Press throughout the university, including the Press Advisory Board, as well as the academy at large, and at professional conferences. He/she remains current with new publishing trends, including digital publishing, and possesses the ability to generate new ideas. The editor in chief works closely with the Director and other members of the Leadership Team to implement the Press's strategic plan. The editor in chief must also acquire 15-20 new titles and maintain a list within the humanities and/or social sciences, preferably in a field related to UNP's current disciplines.
