|The University of South Carolina Press seeks an experienced, creative, and motivated professional to lead its marketing department, developing and directing all aspects of the sales and marketing program, including but not limited to strategic planning, publicity, promotion, sales activities and forecasting, space advertising, direct mail, exhibits, and inventory management. The Marketing Director will also serve as the Press’s primary publicist and regional sales representative. This position manages the efforts of the Press’s marketing staff and contracted sales representatives; develops departmental programs and budgets; and coordinates the Press’s electronic promotion, print-on-demand, and ebook programs. The Marketing Director represents the Press with media, major national accounts, and partner institutions as well as at book festivals, scholarly conferences, and other events. A member of the Press’s senior management team, the Marketing Director reports to the Director and advises the Director on all matters relating to the Press’s sales and marketing efforts, including long- and short-term marketing strategies, pricing and print runs, electronic publications and promotions, and special events.|
