We seek a strong Vice President of Publisher Strategy to work alongside Centro’s management team in making the Centro Brand Exchange one of the most valued ad exchanges in the industry. This is a unique opportunity to be the first Vice President of Publisher Strategy of the company, and join a dynamic, fast-growing business at a critical juncture.

To help frame this role, it’s important to understand the context. Centro recently announced the launch of an ad exchange built exclusively for premium brand publishers and brand advertisers. Centro has identified a premium opportunity in the market that will help publishers receive fair value for their unsold inventory.

Scaling Centro and owning the software category, the premium exchange market, in addition to the outsourced business services category, is the top priority. Centro hopes to find a world-class Vice President of Publisher Strategy with a congruent working style that embodies the creative and agile culture (to note, Crain’s Chicago Business ranked Centro as number 1 on its annual “Best Places to Work 2011 and 2012” list) and can help lead the business forward.

- Develop a premium publisher acquisition and onboarding strategy
- Aggressively implement publisher marketing and acquisition strategy through prospecting, evaluating, and identifying the best publishers
- Develop and implement Centro’s data strategy across the Centro Brand Exchange publisher base (in partnership with Krux)
- Drive revenue through the Centro Brand Exchange via enhanced inventory and targeting opportunities
- Work hand in hand with the Centro Brand Exchange operations team to ensure all publisher development strategies are operationally feasible
- Manage and develop relationships with key publisher accounts at the senior level
- Partner with Product and Marketing to introduce new publisher products and functionality
- Establish and lead Publisher Advisory Committee for the Centro Brand Exchange
- Work closely with Centro’s Emerging Technologies team to expand the Brand Exchange inventory across video, mobile, and streaming audio platforms
- Represent Centro at leading online publisher conferences including speaking/panels
- Regularly review publisher accounts regarding CPM, fill rate, growth strategies and opportunities and provide updates to executive management
- Manage Centro’s publisher exchange development team

- Minimum of 5 years in a senior role negotiating partnerships or distribution agreements with premium publishers
- Minimum of 2 years specifically in yield optimization on either the publisher, SSP or exchange side
- Yield management experience needed
Strong C-level contacts within the online publisher community
- Strong track record of managing a high-performing business development team
- Self-starter with ability to own negotiation process from initial meeting to close
- Passion for data and analytics
- Strong client presentation skills
- B.A. or M.A in analytical or technical field preferred
- Fun, dynamic individual

- Minimum of 7 years of experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience building and leading sales and/or product teams with an emphasis on scaling them to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business

- Experience and understanding of the exchange, RTB, DSP and ATD industry and systems, as well as data protection
- Understanding of buy-side and sell-side platforms

- BA/BS required
- MBA preferred
