RedNova Learning Inc., part of the Macmillan Publishing Group, continues to grow. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Photo and Media Research Coordinator to join our English Language Teaching (ELT) team in Palmetto Bay, near Miami, FL, working on titles for K-6 and Secondary/Post-Secondary markets. The role involves working closely with the publishing teams to source photographic images and footage, either from libraries or by commissioning photo and video shoots.

Key requirements are:
• A strong understanding of copyright issues and law
• At least five years proven copyright clearance and photo/video footage research knowledge and experience within a photo/media research or rights department
• Experience negotiating and purchasing licensing terms for stock images and video clips
• Experience of managing photo and video shoots
• Experience of negotiating with, briefing and managing external suppliers and freelancers
• Excellent organizational skills
• Experience developing and implementing effective procedures and processes
• The ability to work creatively within tight budgets
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work under pressure, and to prioritize in a proactive manner
• Good general knowledge, resourcefulness and the ability to think laterally
• The ability to liaise effectively with colleagues based in the US and overseas at varying levels of seniority

Knowledge of educational book publishing is highly desirable.

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will also demonstrate experience clearing other third party material e.g. texts for print and digital products, and sound effects for digital/audio products, etc.

The role involves:
• Costing projects
• Advising on all aspects of image/footage acquisition or creation
• Managing freelance suppliers
• Researching and acquiring images/footage from existing sources such as photo libraries, universities, tourist bureaux, corporate bodies and private collections
• Organizing and managing photo and video shoots
• Securing reproduction rights on both researched and commissioned images/footage and advising on copyright issues
• Keeping up to date on changes within IP law
• Liaising with Macmillan Education UK regarding use of the in-house Image Bank
• Ensuring all necessary administration and documentation is completed correctly and in a timely manner

A good understanding of Microsoft Office and the Internet as a research tool, plus experience of Photoshop and film editing is desirable. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for proactive and results focused individuals to be a part of our new publishing team as it develops and grows.
