Alloy Entertainment, LLC seeks a Associate Managing Editor for the AE Publishing department. Manages publishing calendar, production process, and editorial schedules for books. Liaises with legal, accounting, and royalties departments to track contracts and payments. Coordinates paperwork and process for TV tie-in covers, foreign and domestic.

Print Book Production: manage internal schedules; refine and improve processes; in-house proofreading and copy editing; oversee freelance production work; communicate with colleagues at publishing houses.

Databases: design, build, and maintain databases to track intellectual property, schedules, legal and financial details, contact information, etc.; educate colleagues and respond to feedback on functionality/capabilities.

eBook Production: engage outside vendors for file conversion; supervise production; maintain accounts with distributors (Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Apple, et al.).

Tie-In Editions: field queries and assemble paperwork for colleagues in Burbank; instruct publishers (foreign and domestic) on usage guidelines; route/approve designs; develop and refine application and approval processes.

Servers: create templates and hierarchies for editorial, legal, and accounting archives; devise and implement naming conventions; educate colleagues on archiving practices and access.

Library: track library inventory; mail finished copies to authors, agents; arrange book donations to charity organizations.

High School diploma or equivalent required.

BA in English or equivalent work experience required.

Minimum 3–5 years experience in managing or production editorial for book publishing.

Proficiency in MS Office, FileMaker Pro.

Working knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style 16 and other standard references.

Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks.

Excellent written communication skills.

Strong sense of organization and process.

Pre-press experience and familiarity with Adobe CS a plus.
