Ingram Content Group (ICG) is currently recruiting for a Director of Channel Sales to join VitalSource Technologies in Raleigh, NC. The Director of Channel Sales is charged with growing and coordinating business done through resellers and across markets. The Director will also establish and grow the VitalSource wholesale business in those channels and the VitalSource Store. The Director will achieve the company’s financial targets in the channels through direct sales, supporting channel partners, and working with publishers interested in VitalSource selling their content. The Director will maintain key relationships with industry partners and develop effective new channels and business models. Additionally, works closely with other business unit managers to scope, develop, and implement business models and technology solutions.

Essential job duties in this role include:
•Coordinates sales and account activities for resellers.
•Achieves financial goals for sales and profitability.
•As required, hires and trains additional sales and account management staff to support growth.
•Identifies and exploits viable channels into the market, including direct sales through the VitalSource Store and wholesale business to channels and institutions.
•Works with Marketing to identify and implement effective product marketing in the segment.
•Develops new channels and works with other divisions to implement marketing and technology needed to access new markets and/or sell additional product.
•Documents and provides customer feedback to Product team.
•Manages segment sales and account management team to ensure customer satisfaction
•Works with several departments to acquire and produce additional content to sell using a variety of different business models.
•Develops account management processes and business reviews for customers.
•Collaborates with marketing to produce presentations, creates marketing and sales support collateral, and performs competitive analysis
•Negotiates service agreements with clients and partners
•Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws to include interviewing, hiring and training and planning, assigning and directing work.

Minimum Education and Experience required:
•Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field or directly related year-for-year experience
•7 years experience in a sales and/or business development role required
•5 years management experience

Additional Preferred Skills include:
•Experience in Channel Development and Educational Publishing
•Expertise in developing scalable, business analysis
•Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting, and selling products or services to include marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
•Ability to travel 25% of time
