Ingram Content Group (ICG) is currently recruiting for a Director, Content Management to join our Product/Merchandising group in our LaVergne, TN headquarters. The Director, Content Management leads a team that is responsible for profitably growing Ingram’s wholesale businesses through the acquisition and management of physical and digital products. The team is responsible for both a portion of Ingram’s wholesale book buying as well as business development with publishers. They work directly with publishers and other vendors to increase their participation in Ingram service offerings, as well as with internal colleagues to understand and enhance our wholesale offerings to retail customers. In addition to leading this team, the Director participates in strategic planning and develops practical plans and processes that allow the team to achieve our agreed-upon goals.

Essential Job Duties:
Content Management and Inventory Acquisition
•Supervises a team of Content Managers and buyers.
•Works with publishers to acquire digital content and to buy physical books.
•Ensures publishers are taking advantage of all possible sales channels for all of their titles.
•Has a thorough understanding of Ingram selling platforms, and works tirelessly to improve them to generate more sales.
•Works with the team to manage inventory to optimize fill rate, turn, and cost per unit.
Vendor Management and strategic planning
•Leads negotiations with publishers for more favorable trading terms.
•Conducts regular business reviews with vendors.
•Works closely with Ingram sales forces to sell Ingram services to publishers.
•Able to use large amounts of data to inform business decisions and planning.
Internal interactions
•Can communicate effectively in both writing and speech, in a range of settings.
•Works with the process improvement teams to develop tools to allow Content Managers to succeed.
•Finds practical solutions to business needs and enacts them quickly.
•Acts as mentor and coach to members of the Content Management team.
•Sets priorities, identifies opportunities, finds the signal in the noise, and creates consensus around the best ideas. Provides structure to allow work to get done efficiently.
•Takes initiative. Leads spirited advances and orderly retreats. Rebounds from setbacks.
•Simplifies and improve processes. Roots out inefficiency. Develops efficient workflows. Makes it easier to do business with Ingram.
•Manages change.
•Listens, learns, advises, thinks, re-thinks, articulates, coaxes, clarifies, adapts, teaches, empowers.

Minimum Education and Experience required:
•5 years experience as a merchandise planner or buyer in a large retail or wholesale organization.
•Four year degree or equivalent experience in management of vendor relationships

Preferred Experience:
•Knowledge of operational components within the Publishing industry
•Detailed knowledge of Product business practices with a strategic background
•Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
