Reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing. Manages and oversees all marketing functions for the Harvard Education Publishing Group (HEPG). Creates and manages the implementation of marketing strategies for three publishing imprints of HEPG: Harvard Education Press (HEP), Harvard Educational Review (HER), and Harvard Education Letter (HEL). Develops and manages the HEPG marketing budget, marshalling available financial resources in an effort to create the widest possible and most advantageous exposure for HEPG’s various publications. Manages and directs the creation and production of integrated marketing campaigns, including promotional materials such as the HEP catalog; direct marketing, digital and print advertising, and online communications. Sets the strategy and manages HEPG digital presence and outreach, including e-newsletter and the overarching social media presence. Identifies key metrics and evaluates and reports on current digital trends that will be used for strategic decision making. Investigates and analyzes impact of marketing initiatives and reports on status and results. Hires and supervises freelance copywriters and designers as well as 1-2 department staff. Also manages vendor relations, including identifying vendors, evaluating their work and making recommendations about continued relationships. Manages non-publicity author communications. Manages websites for all HEPG imprints, ensuring that the content is current, accurate, and measured for impact. Determines and manages all plans for HEPG presence at annual scholarly and professional conferences. Manages author appearances, and awards, including communications and fulfillment. May work on special projects as assigned. Performs related duties as needed and required.

Basic Qualifications: B.A.; minimum of 3 years related work experience, including personnel- and finance-related responsibilities. Occasional travel as needed.

Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects to completion; excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail; experience with online marketing and research tools and methods preferred. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; excellent computer skills including, but not limited to MS Office Suite.
