Description
Harlequin is seeking a Senior Publicist or Assistant Publicity Manager with a proven track record in Young Adult/Teen publicity to join our dynamic and creative publicity department. Candidate will be responsible for creating and executing publicity campaigns for a variety of bestselling and award-winning young adult authors, including, Julie Kagawa, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Alexandra Adornetto, Elizabeth Scott, Gena Showalter, Katie McGarry among others.

Major Responsibilities:
• Creating and executing publicity campaigns for 10-12 books per season
• Pitching and securing national and regional media, including print, radio, television, online outlets
• Planning and coordinating a limited number of book tours and author appearances
• Meeting regularly with media contacts and cultivating new ones
• Writing press materials, including compelling press releases and creative pitch letters
• Researching new media outlets and creating targeted mailing lists
• Working closely with publicity team as well as authors, editors, sales and marketing teams

Qualifications:
• Minimum 4+ years book publicity experience
• Experience in children’s publishing preferred
• Strong pitching technique and proven ability to generate creative hook ideas
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to work within fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to focus on details a must
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, Publicity Assistant, Cision
• Ability to travel a few times throughout the year via airplane, train or automobile required
