|The West Virginia University Press is currently seeking a Managing Editor. The WVU Press publishes 12-15 new titles annually and five scholarly journals. Subjects and genre include fiction, history, medieval studies, rural sociology, natural sciences, African American literature, and general interest trade books.|
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: preparing manuscripts for production; managing the work of freelance copyeditors and proofreaders, including scheduling, performance assessment, invoicing/payment; coordinating overall production schedules with production and marketing staff; and managing department finances/budgets.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree (MA/MS preferred). The candidate will possess a minimum: 2-3 years of experience writing for a scholarly publication or possess professional publishing experience.
