Sinner’s Steel

Sarah Castille. St. Martin’s Paperbacks, $7.99 mass market (336p) ISBN 978-1-250-05662-7

Castille emphasizes the darkest aspects of motorcycle gangs in the gritty third Sinner’s Tribe Motorcycle Club contemporary (after Beyond the Cut). As v-p of Sinner’s Tribe, Zane has the back of his best friend, club president Jagger. They grew up together, along with Evie, who always had eyes for Zane. After one night together, Zane had to abandon Evie in order to avoid arrest for a crime he didn’t commit. Nine years later, Zane discovers that Evie didn’t go to college as planned, but instead set up a motorcycle customization shop right in the middle of Sinner’s Tribe’s Montana territory. Evie is reluctant to reconnect with Zane, particularly since his club is at war with a rival club she’s carelessly gotten mixed up with; her first goal is to protect herself and her son from the violence and lawlessness. Castille writes for the reader who doesn’t believe bad boys need redemption and hungers for the story of a couple whose love survives despite dangerous times.
