This April, Abrams/Amulet is kicking off the first-ever Wimpy Kid Month, a month-long celebration of Jeff Kinney's wildly popular series, which will become an annual event. The campaign culminates on April 28 with the cover, color, and title reveal of the ninth book in the series, to be published November 4.

Wimpy Kid Month will feature retail promotions and authorless events in bookstores across the country. In addition, Kinney will make appearances throughout the month: on April 6 he's set to speak at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Mass., and on April 27 he will appear at the Boston Public Library as part of the Lowell Lecture Series.

On April 28, Kinney will reveal the cover and title of Wimpy Kid #9 during a live global webcast on www.wimpykid.com at 9 a.m. EST. The webcast will also incorporate interactive quizzes, draw-alongs, and more, which viewers will be able to participate in from home or in a classroom.

There are more than 120 million copies of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books in print. In 2013, the most recent title in the series, Hard Luck, was the bestselling book in the country with more than three million copies sold.
