All the Hulk Feels by Dan Santat. Abrams Fanfare, $19.99; ISBN 978-1-4197-7613-7. Bruce Banner typically only transforms into Hulk when his emotions are getting out of hand, but must learn to control his feelings when the transformations become more frequent.

Codebreaker by Jay Martel. Wednesday, $24 hardcover; ISBN 978-1-2503-5556-0; $13 paper ISBN 978-1-2503-5554-6. Teen Mia’s mother has died, and her father has disappeared. When she’s abducted and questioned about her father’s whereabouts, Mia knows that the only way to uncover the truth is to follow a series of clues he left behind. The Escape Artist: A True Story of Octopus Adventure by Thor Hanson, illus. by Galia Bernstein. Greenwillow, $19.99; ISBN 978-0-0626-7647-4. Octopus Inky, known IRL for his 2016 escape from a New Zealand aquarium, is shown here as an eight-armed marvel with undulating, mottled pink tentacles, a prodigiously playful intellect, and a restless heart. Evil-Ish by Kennedy Tarrell. Macmillan/Feiwel and Friends, $25.99 hardcover; ISBN 978-1-250-83996-1; $17.99 paper ISBN 978-1-250-83995-4. Nonbinary teen Hawthrone accidentally ends up in charge of the infamous Brigade of Shade, a formerly destructive political organization, and must navigate new allegiances among their cohort.

Island Storm by Brian Floca, illus. by Sydney Smith. Holiday House/Porter, $18.99; ISBN 978-0-8234-5647-5. In this picture book by Caldecott Medalist Floca and Hans Christian Andersen Award recipient Smith, two children attempt to make it to the beach for a quick look at the sea before a massive storm arrives. The Library of Curiosities by Jenny Lundquist. Holiday House, $17.99 hardcover; ISBN 978-0-8234-5854-7; ISBN 978-0-8234-6159-2. Orphaned 11-year-old Rowan Fitzgerald discovers that a library card she received from an estranged grandfather grants her access to magical items in a library, and when objects are stolen, she must apprehend the real thief if she wants to stay in her precious new home.

The Metamorphosis of Bunny Baxter by Barbara Carroll Roberts. Holiday House/Ferguson, $18.99; ISBN 978-0-823458-56-1. “Bunny” Baxter is disappointed to start seventh grade at a different middle school than her best friend. When she has troubles fitting in, Bunny concocts a plan to get herself expelled with hopes of being transferred. The middle grade book received a starred review from PW.

Recess by Lane Smith. Abrams, $19.99; ISBN 978-1-4197-7689-2. Ever the troublemaker, Smith stages a jubilant and highly interactive mutiny against the tyranny of strictly scheduled fun, declaring recess an anytime, anywhere affair.

Schoolbot 9000 by Sam Hepburn. Dial, $24.99 hardcover; ISBN 978-0-593-69941-6; $14.99 paper ISBN 978-0-593-69942-3. Hepburn’s debut graphic novel is a timely, hilarious take on the increasing presence of artificial intelligence in everyday life. The graphic novel received a starred review from PW.

Steel & Spellfire by Laura E. Weymouth. McElderry, $19.99; ISBN 978-1-6659-5975-9. Pandora, a newly minted Ingenue with special powers, seeks to break free from her unknown patron, to whom she’s been bound since she was a child.
