Coffee House Seeks Funding for Writers Project

Coffee House Press has launched a fundraiser for its latest program, the Coffee House Writers Project. Modeled on the Depression-era WPA work program, the project is designed to support both booksellers and writers by paying them for their original work, which will be delivered first to project supporters and made available to the public two weeks later. Eloisa Amezcua and Fernando A. Flores are the first two writers commissioned to write pieces for the Writers Project. Besides funders, the Minneapolis literary nonprofit press is seeking writers and booksellers wanting to participate in this program.
