Frankfurt Sends Signals of Hope

A virtual press conference for the Frankfurt Book Fair this morning revealed the fair's online activities and professional programs, which include more than 70 hours of B2B activities. In addition, the fair launched its new social media promotional campaign for 2020: Signals of Hope. The campaign employs the imagery of maritime flags to produce coded messages that can be shared on social media through the company's digital Hope Generator.

"To quote Rebecca Solnit, from her book Hope in the Dark, 'Inside the word emergency is emerge, from an emergency new things come forth. The old certainties are crumbling fast, but danger and possibility are sisters," said Katja Böhne, v-p of communications for the fair, in introducing the project.

The program will be accompanied by a Hope Salon, during the virtual fair, with programming from inspirational speakers echoing the message of hope and optimism.
