Inaugural Sacks Book Prize to Honor Jewish Writing

The Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks-Herenstein Center for Values and Leadership has announced the creation of Yeshiva University’s Sacks Book Prize.

The $50,000 Sacks Book Prize, underwritten by the Rohr family and named after the late author and Jewish thought leader Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, will be awarded to an author of a recently published or about to be published work of Jewish ideas deeply sourced in Jewish texts, with broad appeal within and beyond the Jewish community. In addition to the $50,000 purse, funds will be use to help the author promote the book through events, marketing, and book distribution.

The winner and two finalists will be determined by an independent committee of five judges in cooperation with The Rabbi Sacks Legacy Trust based in the United Kingdom. The deadline for submitting manuscripts is April 29, 2022. The winner as well as two finalists will be announced on November 30, 2022. For more information, click here.
