Waterstones May Buy Blackwell's

Elliott Advisors, which owns both Waterstones and Barnes & Noble, is said to be in exclusive talks to buy Blackwell's, a chain of 18 stores in the U.K., according to the Bookseller.

Blackwell's is 143-years-old and is headquartered in Oxford. According to the Bookseller, "given the book retail firms it has bought in recent years," Elliott may pay as little as £6 million ($8 million) and as much as £20 million ($27 million) for the chain.
