Alexandra Skoczylas Named Executive Director of Carol Shields Prize

The board of directors of the Carol Shields Prize for Fiction has announced that Alexandra Skoczylas, formerly executive director of Opera Atelier in Toronto, Canada, will join the organization as executive director on March 14.

The Carol Shields Prize for Fiction is the first English-language literary award to celebrate creativity and excellence in fiction by women and non-binary writers in the United States and Canada. The first Prize will be awarded on May 4, 2023. Named after author Carol Shields, the prize is managed by the Carol Shields Prize Foundation, which encourages participation of women in the literary arts through scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of financial assistance.
