Print Lead Times Rise

According to the Book Manufacturers’ Institute’s monthly survey of its members, the average manufacturer of hardcover books was running at 90% of their capacity, a slight drop from May’s 91%. The average lead time for completed hardcovers was up from 91 days in May to 104 days in June. For softcover books, capacity usage went from 92% last month down to 91%, but the average lead time was up to 84 day from 70 days in May.
