King Joins Notre Dame

Emily R. King, currently acquisitions editor at 1517's Media's Fortress Press imprint, will join the University of Notre Dame Press as senior editor on August 1. She will be responsible for acquiring books on religion, theology, and philosophy, according to the Catholic press.

King, who helped launch 1517 Media's Broadleaf Books imprint, has acquired titles such as Toni Morrison’s Spiritual Vision: Faith, Folktales, and Feminism in Her Life and Literature by Nadra Nittle and Hunting Magic Eels: Recovering an Enchanted Faith in a Skeptical Age by Richard Beck. Prior to that, she served for nearly a decade as an intern, editorial assistant, and associate editor at Baylor University Press.
