Center for Fiction Announces 2022 First Novel Prize Longlist

The Center for Fiction has announced the longlist for its 2022 First Novel Prize. The list comprises 24 debut novels selected from more then 140 submitted titles with publication dates between January 1 and December 31, 2022. 

The winner of the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize receives a $15,000 purse, and shortlisted authors receive $1,000. The shortlist will be announced this fall, and the winner will be announced in December. 

This year's longlist includes Jessamine Chan's The School for Good Mothers, Meghan Gilliss's Lungfish, Chantal V. Johnson's Post-Traumatic, Leila Mottley's Nightcrawling, and Alyssa Songsiridej's Little Rabbit
