NCAC Names Emily Knox as Board Chair

The National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC) has elected Emily Knox as the new chair of its board of directors. Knox, associate professor at the School of Information Sciences at University of Illinois and author of Book Banning in 21st Century America, succeeds Jon Anderson, president and publisher of Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing Division. 

Over the past year, the NCAC has also expanded its board to include legal scholar and author Randall Kennedy; Barbara Marcus, president and publisher of Random House Children's Books; independent bookseller Mitchell Kaplan; former ABA CEO Oren Teicher; and TV and film producer and director Gina Maria Leonetti.
