Lightning Source Sharjah Offers One Million Books

Lightning Source Sharjah, a joint venture between Ingram Content Group’s Lightning Source LLC and the Sharjah Book Authority, celebrated a milestone with the news it now offers more than a million titles, in 169 different languages, for distribution to the Middle East and Africa. The company opened in November 2021 and today serves some 300 retailers and distributors in the region. These include retailers in the U.A.E., such as including Kinokuniya and Magrudy’s. Local publishers too are benefitting, including Al Qasimi, Motivate and Obeikan.

“The new Lightning Source facility in Sharjah is a win-win-win situation for our customers, authors and Kinokuniya UAE alike,” Steve Jones, store manager at Kinokuniya in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, said. “Now, we can receive stock within a couple of days — cutting lead times by a few weeks. We look forward to using this service even more in the future.”
