Editor Robert Rorke Dies at 68

Robert Rorke, former contributing editor at PW and longtime TV critic at the New York Post, died August 12 after a long illness. He was 68.

Rorke had an MFA from Warren Wilson College, and his debut novel, Car Trouble, was published by Harper Perennial in 2018.

"Robert was a force! Whether on the page, or across the desk or table, he always announced himself—with joy, wit, and brilliance," said Sara Nelson, former PW editor-in-chief and current v-p and executive editor at HarperCollins. I was proud to work with him at PW and to publish his moving novel Car Trouble a few years later. The world is so much lesser without him."
