Chile Will Be Frankfurt's Guest of Honor in 2027

The Frankfurt Book Fair has announced that Chile will be the guest of honor country in 2027. Book fair director Juergen Boos was in Santiago last Friday, where Chilean Minister of Culture Carolina Arredondo Marzán signed an official agreement.

The program will be presented under the motto, "Through the clear skies of literature." It will focus on such contemporary authors and illustrators as Isabel Allende and historically relevant authors as Roberto Bolano and Pablo Neruda.

Chile will be the first Latin American country to be guest of honor in Frankfurt since Argentina in 2010. Upcoming countries slated to be guest of honor include Italy in 2024, the Philippines in 2025, and the Czech Republic in 2026.
