OR Books to Publish Posthumous Book by Refaat Alrareer

OR Books will publish a collection of the late Palestinian poet and English literature professor Refaat Alareer, titled If I Must Die, in September. His poem of the same name went viral following Alareer's death on December 6 following an Israeli airstrike in Gaza. (On April 26, the same day that OR's acquisition of the collection was announced, Alareer's daughter, son-in-law, and infant granddaughter were also killed by an Israeli airstrike.) A reading of "If I Must Die" by actor Brian Cox was filmed for the Palestine Festival of Literature, and the poem was subsequently translated into more than 40 languages. The book will combine Alareer's poetry, writing on literature, and personal correspondences.
