This book of color photographs charts the transformation of Diana Spencer from the shy teenager of 1981 (``Lady Di'') to the self-composed mother of two of 1987 (``Princess Di''). There are cozy snaps of Diana with Charles, with sons William and Henry; records of her travels in Bangkok, Brisbane and Belfast, of her rubbing noses (literally) with New Zealanders and reviewing troops in Newfoundland; pictures of her wearing jeans, gowns and maternity frocks; shots of her at polo matchessome 100 portraits in all. In a short essay, Graham ( In PersonThe Prince and Princess of Wales ) tells of his professional introduction to the princess and of high-points in their seven-year relationship; although not an ``official'' court photographer, he has taken ``official'' photographs of members of the royal family. His assemblage here, however, of so many likenesses of the princess will probably strike even passionate Di-watchers as a bit much. First serial to Ladies' Home Journal and the Star; Literary Guild and Doubleday Book Club alternate s . (September)
