On his third children's recording, Harper (Imagine That), finds inspiration in aliens, spaceships, travel—and books. The native Oklahoman builds on his loyal regional following with this collection of original songs with a fresh, upbeat alt-folk sound. The majority of tunes, featuring Harper on guitar as well as such unusual instruments as the kazoo and organ, deliver fun facts along with the inviting vocals and sunny strumming. In the title track, kids learn that "Pobbalagga bigga bogga zibby zabba zoo" is alien-speak for "Take me to your library." And more common languages (Russian, Japanese, German) turn up on "Howdy," a song about how fellow human beings around the world greet each other. Several selections encourage diversity, promote reading and help listeners identify geographic places and animals. Still other tunes, like "Tropeo the Pirate" and "Out on the Beach," are just for fun.
