Move over, prosperity gospel. According to Moore, a former v-p at Paine Webber, those Christians who make an idol of money violate biblical precepts and risk destroying their own souls. And he doesn't just speak in generalities, but names names: Christians should not be motivated by greed (as seen in The Prayer of Jabez), or fear (the brace-for-disaster stance of Larry Burkett or the Left Behind series), but by a desire for the abundant life Christ promised. Faithful investing, he says, is based on the premise that everything we "own" actually belongs to God, and must be used for God's glory.
