Stolen Moments

Harley Jane Miller, a cloistered, mid-20s pop star, escapes her bullying manager for a taste of freedom--a two-week holiday in New York City. Her experiment with independence turns into a dazzling romp with a sexy P.I., Duncan Lang, who was sent to track her down but eventually accedes to her wish for some time for self-discovery. Following the fast-paced Stolen Hearts, here Martin's plot is playful and rambunctious even as Harley and Duncan find treachery in both their camps. Secondary characters, though one-dimensional, frame a warm and convincing sizzle of chemistry between kindred spirits as Harley reinvents her musical persona and makes peace with her country roots and Duncan thwarts betrayal to claim his rightful place in the family business.
