In this middling initial entry in Fox’s (Burned Hearts) Lover’s Triangle series, an ambitious heiress attempts to broker a land deal with a rival family, only to run into complications of the heart. As soon as Jewel Catalano runs into former flame Rogen Angelini, whose father is balking at selling her the acreage she desires, sparks once again fly, and they wind up in bed. But when Rogen’s best friend, Vin D’Angelo, the other love of Jewel’s life, also turns up ready to seduce her, she sees only one fitting solution to her dilemma: have both men at once. The trio are spectacular at satisfying one another, but they have a host of emotional issues to work through, as well as their feuding families to deal with. The storyline sizzles with excitement and eroticism, but the emotional tension often feels forced, and the resolution, though satisfying, lacks punch. Despite (or perhaps because of) some extremely intimate threesome scenes, Rogen and Vin feel compelled to assert their rugged heterosexuality and alpha personalities on a regular basis. This ménage makes for a great fantasy, but lacks relatability. Agent: Sarah Younger, Nancy Yost Literary Agency. (Apr.)
