It Could Happen: A Slow Burn, Enemies to Lovers Romantic Comedy

Baldwin (UnLucky Christmas) makes familiar tropes sing in this endearing rom-com. Single and successful sales representative Tori Hayes has always put career ahead of relationships, partly due to her intense aversion to change. When her college bestie, Caroline, asks her to be a bridesmaid in her upcoming wedding in Georgia, however, Tori is thrust out of her comfort zone. The other bridesmaids are all Southern belles, and worse, they’re all best friends, leaving Tori the odd one out. As the wedding date approaches, she learns that beneath the friend group’s perfect veneer lies a torrent of secrets, betrayals, and lies—and soon she’s at the center of all of it, alongside gorgeous but infuriating groomsman Tyler. The pair bond through the chaos, coming to realize that they complement each other even more than they annoy each other. Meanwhile, Tori re-bonds with Caroline, supporting her through the worst of the wedding stress, and questions her career choices. It’s a lot of change at once, and to face it, Tori must learn to embrace the unknown. Readers will have no trouble rooting for her as she does so. This cute romance is sure to please. (Self-published)
